This project sought to create a more open generous living, dining and kitchen environment and a stronger connection to the garden. We were asked to refurbish first floor bedrooms and en suite bathrooms and create a spacious master suite located at loft level with dressing space and en suite shower room.
At ground floor level, we proposed a rear extension, with an inside out stone floor finish and a water feature that visually extended a slate floor inside. The rear extension enabled a generous kitchen and dining space to be created and an adjoining play and study space for the children too. The first floor bedrooms were generous in size and the bathrooms were well finished and elegant. The master en suite at loft level received a large rear dormer to the rear and an automated glass roof to the front slope. The loft space was lit with a continuous lighting panel to the ridge and the staircase rises in the centre of the loft with a glass panel in the floor and glass balustrades.
Construction was completed in 2009 and the main contractor was FA Lane & Son Construction Limited.
