Layer Gardens Loft Conversion in Acton, London.
This is a loft conversion with a difference. The folded oak and steel staircase is bathed in light, sunlight punches into the heart of the house, and the top-lit glass shelving walls separates and connects the study to the rest of the house with elegance.
The folded steel and oak staircase is the very definition of efficiency. It adds delight and interest as much to the ground and first floors as it does to loft level, it was an engineering challenge and worth the effort. The study is tailored for the whole family, with a generous working bench and shelving, with clerestory glazing and sliding folding windows to the rear. The front bedroom is generous in size and has ample storage and a snug reading area in the front eaves. The loft level is served by an elegant top-lit shower and bathroom space.
Construction was completed in 2014 and the main contractor was Kevin Walker Loft Space Specialists.
